The Jackson County, MO Libertarian Party would like libertarian minded citizens to consider running for Committeeman or Committeewoman in your Ward, Sub-District or Township.
This position is a foundational Political role within the United States Political system which is administered by the State. Regrettably, this is a voluntary position for which there is no financial remuneration! You would be responsible for representing Libertarians in your jurisdiction and for directing the activities of our County Political Party. See Political Party Committees beginning with section 115.603 through 115.627 of the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri for details.

TO BECOME A COMMITTEE PERSON:
There are three ways by which you can become a committee person. You can file, be a write-in, or be appointed.
FIRST: Go to the Missouri Libertarian Party (MoLP) website donation link [Donate], select a One-Time donation of $25 and select to pay the 3% processing fee for a total of $25.75, provide your Personal Information and in the Comments Section state that this is the “Filing fee receipt for Jackson County, MO (Ward, Sub-District, Township) for the office of Committeeman or Committeewoman” for which you reside. You will receive an email receipt from the MoLP which you will then present to the Clerk of County Legislature at the Jackson County Courthouse during the filing period which is between the last Tuesday of February through the last Tuesday of March; February 27th through March 26th, 2024. The County Clerk will have you complete a “Candidate Declaration Form” identifying your Ward, Sub-District or Township in which you reside and that you wish to represent. This will place your name on the Libertarian Ballot for your precinct in the August 6, 2024 Primary Election.
It is not unusual for there to be more candidates than positions available for the major Political Parties. So it’s possible to see campaigns signs for committee persons in those locations. Historically, that has not been an issue for the Libertarian Party!

Our goal for the next two years would be organize our Party Central Committee, promote Libertarian candidates and support their efforts to get elected for local, state and national offices and the interests of our Party.
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT: Committee persons can participate in the Missouri Libertarian Party (http://lpmo.org) meetings.
